The S&P BSE Sensex slipped over 100 points in morning trade on Monday led by losses in Infosys BSE -1.80 %, ITC BSE -0.81 %, HDFC Bank BSE -0.91 %, Axis Bank BSE -1.61 %, and Tata Motors BSE -2.14 %.

The Nifty50 slipped below its crucial level of 8,250 weighed down by losses in IT, realty, oil & gas, power, capital goods, consumer durables, and banking stocks.

The 30-share index was trading 143 points lower or 0.53 per cent at 26,604. It touched a high of 26,725.31 and a low of 26,594.56 in morning trade.

The Nifty50 was trading at 8,217 down 44 points or 0.53 per cent. It touched a high of 8,230.65 and a low of 8,209.60 in the first 30 minutes of trade.

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was down 0.45 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.15 per cent lower.

ONGC (up 2.3 per cent), SBI (up 0.5 per cent), M&M (up 0.41 per cent) and Sun Pharma (up 0.3 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers.

nfosys (down 2 per cent), Axis Bank (down 1.7 per cent), Asian Paints (down 1.3 per cent), and Wipro (down 1.1 per cent) were the major Sensex losers.
